Honestly, I’m not sure what happened. Somewhere along the way, I got uninspired, and I thought “this is making no difference, why am I even doing this?” And then I stopped. I failed at my goal, just as I was coming up along the finish line. This is a habit I have that I used to sabotage myself. I devalue my effort. I devalue my contribution. I make it small so that I can abandon it. This is obviously a choice I make out of fear and those limiting beliefs that had me take on the project in the first place.
Remember, every failure you have is a stepping stone to success. Well, this time I did not succeed, but I learned a lot of valuable lessons, and in retrospect, I can now see where I need to grow in order to accomplish the results I’m committed to accomplishing.
Take this opportunity to reflect on your own stopping points. Is there a theme that is consistent each time you fail? Do you do like I do and you get close to the finish line and then you retreat? When do you do distinguish where and why you stop, you can make a plan to take a step over that hurdle the next time. You have not failed unless you quit.
Thank you for following along on my journey. Let’s keep being a work in progress together!
