What’s in your toolbox? Are you equipped with the right things you need to make your business succeed? Many entreprenuers think a business plan and seed money are all it takes to be profitable. Maybe that’s whey so many businesses fail. Don’t find yourself ill-equipped to handle the business breakdowns that come your way. These tools are must-haves for the savvy businessperson looking to grow, expand and be profitable.
- A vision, philosophy or guiding mission.
- An up-to-date, current database with 2 sections: active clients and leads. This needs to include: name, address, phone number, email address and employer.
- A welcoming environment that reflects your vison.
- Employees that are committed to your vision and aligned as a team.
- Owner who creates goals and takes responsibility for producing results.
- Consistent reporting of results produced.
- A budget. (Don’t say “no duh…” you’d be SHOCKED at how few business owners have, keep and manage one.)
- Monthly team status updates including brainstorming for ideas to fill in the gap between where we are and where we want to be.
- An owner, and employees, who are well-nurtured and balanced.
- Play… if you’re having fun, people will want to join you (employees AND clients.)
Call to action: Circle any of these that you currently DO NOT have in your business and schedule time to develop them and put them in action.
