First in newspapers, then on the radio… and the worst offenders on t.v. with their up-to-the second tickers on the current NYSE numbers. Drama is not the answer. I just read a great article (http://goeastdesign.com/grandpa-august-the-great-depression/) that talks about how some of our country’s greatest innovations came from businesses that were forced by recessions to turn inward and created new ideas, needs, and desires for consumers. Did you know that GE, Disney, HP and Microsoft were all start-ups during deep declines in the U.S. economy?
Recessions are opportunities for REAL innovators. Those who are motivated, inspired and committed to thinking out of the box will rise to the occasion and achieve success that grows exponentially as the economy cycles.
Opportunity is knocking. Who will answer YOUR door: an innovator or a Chicken Little?
