If you have goals that are important to you, you have to plan your life around them. I love a good vision board for keeping you focused on your future. One of the most important reasons I’ve taken on this #FightBack project is because I’ve felt stuck for so long, NOT moving forward to all of the things I am committed to in the future for myself and my family.
A goal is not something you hope for, it’s something you are WORKING TOWARD every single day. If you don’t know where you are going, then you don’t know what to focus on and your day (and then your entire life) becomes a sequence of reactions to the world around you. When you have goals to focus on, you become clear about the everyday activities you need to be doing to get you there.
For instance, I was doing a cleanse day this week and was debating whether or not I wanted to do a consecutive second one. I really didn’t FEEL like it and as I started fantasizing about all of the things I might make for dinner if I DID NOT cleanse the second day, I realized that I was about to base my decision on my feelings and NOT what I was committed to in the future. So, I asked myself “Imagine YOU one year from now, under 200 pounds for the first time since you were 12. What would THAT version of you tell you to do?” The obvious answer to me was to do a second cleanse day. So I did. I literally took coaching from the “future me!”
Ask yourself, where do YOU want to be 5 years from now in the areas of health, home, career, relationships, family, friends and hobbies? What do you want your life to really look like on a daily basis? Where do you want to live and what do you want to be doing with your time and talents? These questions will help you flush out what is important to you, so that you can get those goals!
