Today I made another decision about my 100 day journey: no drinking. Alcohol messes with your metabolism, slows down weight loss, and, honestly, it makes me want to snack outside my calorie boundaries.
I’m going to Mexico in a few weeks with my sisters and my Mom, so this decision is a big deal. It was going to be a PARTY. Well, looks like I’m partying sober. LOL. There is NOTHING more important in my life right now than losing weight, getting my hip surgery and getting healthy.
I notice I often make the excuse: well, it’s vacation… or it’s my birthday… or it’s Thanksgiving. And these excuses give me room to indulge in ways that aren’t healthy for me. If I was in weight maintenance mode, that would be one thing, but right now, all my attention, energy and focus needs to be on weight loss. Anything that will get in the way of that needs to be pushed to the side for now… like my life depends on it, because it does.
So, today, take a look at what is REALLY in YOUR way of achieving your goals. Are you committed to those goal strongly enough that you are willing to make achieving them your number one priority? Are you willing to push to the side any and all distractions? Doing so is just another expression of taking radical responsibility for your life and putting what needs to be FIRST, first.
