Do you know the number one reason people don’t succeed with their New Year’s resolutions? They lack patience. We don’t succeed because we don’t stick with it. We get frustrated or lazy or tired, and when results don’t happen IMMEDIATELY; we throw in the towel. So many of us are looking for the quickest, easiest way around our problems, instead of taking them head-on and trudging straight through. I’ve got bad news people: THERE IS NO MAGIC BULLET. Hard work, being uncomfortable and pushing yourself to make incremental changes on a daily basis is the only way you can produce amazing results in your life.
The road to success in our lives is a different distance with every goal or project we take on. Some things happen quickly, others take time, perseverance and patience. Being persistent and consistent are the keys to producing long-term fulfillment. If you have a goal you are passionate about, what are you willing to do to achieve it? Are you willing to fail, then examine your failure, take it on again and continue to fail… always moving to the NEXT RIGHT ANSWER on your road to success. Success is all about continuing to change who we are in response to where we fail. We must rise to each occasion on our road to success. There is no such thing as failing, just quitting before you produced the result.
As Americans, we often sell ourselves short for instant gratification. We think that if we are not getting the answers, or the results, exactly the way we want them in the time frame we have defined, we have experienced the ultimate failure. There is nothing further from the truth. What is true is that we are moving in the right direction, on the road to achievement, but just experiencing hurdles along the way. These hurdles are what prepare us for succeeding. Truly successful people will continue to fail until they produce the result they are committed to. Who hasn’t heard the tried and true story of Thomas Edison’s inventing the lightbulb… he failed hundreds of times before he eventually succeeded. And, his success changed life across the globe.
Today is your day to embrace failure. Learn its lessons and alter who you are being in response to the situation… this is the path to success. There is no failure when you are patient, committed and persistent, there are just lessons along the way that beg to be learned.
